The Twilight site is really extraordinarily pretty. I can't wait till more stuff is added, but for now, it's really cute and fitting, I think! I love that E/B picture. ♥ :) EDIT: I really like this picture/scan, courtesy of twilight_film! E/B again, all in their little bubble. Whee!!

I followed David Archuleta's homecoming yesterday, and it was really amazing and overwhelming and everything that makes you feel all tingly; I definitely got chills! But I also felt kind of freaky about it? I mean, other fans were looking, and not just for Archie, of course, but for David Cook and Syesha as well (DCook, btw, looks really adorable in a baseball uniform :D). I just felt like a big old stalker! I don't know, I suppose I wanted a taste of his homecoming, since AI compresses it in those video packages. I think it'd be an understatement to say that Archie had an amazing turnout! I came home from school and watched some video coverage on MyFoxUtah and (ugh) TMZ. In the first video I saw, he was in tears, as was his mother, and it was just so magical for him and yet weird for me to see, because I again felt stalkerish...like, intruding on a moment that wasn't mine to see. :S I've pondered the idea of meeting him (I've decided I'd like to, somehow), and I just wouldn't want to be a crazy person if I ever did, you know, like Beatlemania girls. But I feel like a crazy person already, just for watching his homecoming and looking at pictures and watching videos that are supposed to be secret, like of David singing the American National Anthem at a...a...a game. I don't know sports!

I'm going to post a few David pictures anyway because I think they're really sweet and I'm not really embarrassed or confused about my liking of him anymore. I think I was just weirded out by the fact that I've never liked a contestant on AI as much as this. I guess I feel stalkerish to the extent that I've never cared this much, so it's still really different for me. Or something? IDK!

Oh my Gosh, too cute! Would it be stalkerish to say that I'm buying my first house there, officially? Probably!!! But...the hard hat, awww! Awwww!

So sweet! His mom is gorgeous. I always get the impression that she and David are like best friends. ♥ ♥

+ Some really nice video coverage of the Murray High pep rally; I teared up! :( He sang Stand by Me/Imagine/Angels, and they're all among my faves, so, I was stoked! ♥ ♥ The crowd even sings along with him sometimes; there was one point in Angels when they joined in, and his face lit up. ♥

Go Archie! No matter what the outcome of the next two weeks, he's my idol already, and I'm not even saying that for the cheese factor. I use the I word and the H (hero) word lightly at times, but I mean it with this. I think he's inspiring and I'm not even embarrassed to admit it anymore. He's inspiring, to me, not just because of his music but because he makes me think there's hope, for a lot of things. I am a little embarrassed to admit those things, though, so I'll just keep them to myself ahahaha, to...IDK. I want to protect my tendency to sway to the cheese factor from out-cheesing itself! And I definitely accomplished that with that sentence anyway! Arrrgh.

I'm not, you know, completely, obsessively FREAKING OUT over this or anything. (I kind of am).

OKAY, EPIPHANY:

I finally got around to reading all of those Twilight sides that were posted SUCH A LONG TIME AGO OH GOD, and they are actually hilarious. In a good way, okay? Like, I love the humor and the fluff and even the angst.

WHICH IS A BIG SHOCK, because: Around this time last year, I was completely opposed to the idea of a movie, and sometimes I still worry about it (mostly because, when I imagine Twilight getting an even bigger exposure, I have nightmarish thoughts. Especially considering this will be in CINEMATIC FORM where people who don't want to imagine WILL GET A FREE VISUAL. :( My head is filled with visions of girls sketching I <3 Edward doodles all over their notebooks, and I want to scribble on all of them like a child and say BUT I LOVED HIM FIRST, even if they're totally allowed to).

And then sometimes, when I'm squeeing and lol-ing with spread_the_fun or looking, once again, at that amazing picture of Robert as fierce!Edward, I GET REALLY EXCITED AND I KIND OF LOVE THE IDEA OF THIS MOVIE. A LOT! And these sides? Totally reinforcing this inevitable truth. Secretly, I think I wanted this all along. I mean, kind of. When the movie was just a possibility, and there wasn't a director yet and the explosion in fandom size hadn't happened, the idea of a movie freaked the heck out of me; my imagination was quite alright on its own, but NOW IT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING AND I'LL SEE THE EFFECT THIS YEAR and GUH, I'M REALLY STOKED FOR IT.

And I can feel another round of excitement coming on, so, I WILL CUT THIS!

Okay, first I really want to talk about the Edward picture; you know, the first official IN ACTION pic of Rob in character. I didn't really give it justice in my post about it before; I was so excited and did most of my squeeing on MSN with spread_the_fun and myst56; I also had to make my update quick, but now I have a bit of time AND THUS:

Okay, honestly? I think he is so perfect. I know that everyone keeps LOL-ing over his clothes and how this movie is OBVIOUSLY THE EPIC STORY OF UNREQUITED JAMES/EDWARD LOVE, but SERIOUSLY?

This is so Edward Cullen, I don't even know.

I can say with freaky pride that I am a massive fan of scary!Edward. Like, really. I love the omg-i-am-a-predator-and-you-are-my-prey stuff in Midnight Sun. I love it when he growls in the baseball field. I love it when he tries to persuade Riley to HATEHATE Victoria. I love it when he fights with/flipping decapitates Victoria. I LOVE HIM ANGRY OVER THE EVIL IN THE WORLD. It is SUCH the opposite of the emotion he feels with Bella, soft and warm and at home. When he's dealing with crazy vampires and Bella in danger and PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING THREATENING, I love him. I love dangerous Edward.

And thus, I love this picture. Robert is AMAZING. spread_the_fun and I agreed, based on this picture alone, that he KNOWS this part. He knows Edward, guys! I can feel it. He seems so devoted to this and I feel even more awful about the fact that he gets HATEMAIL, because he is so obviously into getting characters RIGHT. It's like a quote of Jake Gyllenhaal's -- he said something about how, in order to feel really into who he's playing, it's not enough for him as an actor to just become the character; the character has to become him, too. And Rob did that with Cedric, didn't he? He admitted it in that one epic interview - something about how he started being really polite and what not. AND HE HATED CEDRIC BEFORE, but came out respecting him, even being a little like him. HOW MUCH DO I LOVE ROBERT PATTINSON AT THIS POINT?

A LOT, because I just have this inkling that he is going through the same thing with the Edward character. Maybe it's the sheer fangirl and overanalyzer in me, but as I was talking with spread_the_fun, she and I also noticed that you can SEE, in his face, that this scene isn't just an action sequence for kicks and guts and shock factor. You can see the terror in his face (at seeing Bella unconscious, broken, bloody, maybe not alive, which equals FEAR/PANIC/SORROW); the disgust (again, at evil, at James who goes down such a different path than the redeeming one Carlisle has created for the Cullens); and devotion. This is where the fangirl part comes up, but again, I honestly think that Robert UNDERSTANDS EDWARD LIKE IT IS AS EASY AS BREATHING; it would not surprise me if -- even if they hadn't filmed the scene yet! -- his motivation was defending Bella, because that is Edward's entire purpose.

INCASE YOU CAN'T TELL, I REALLY SUPPORT ROBERT IN THIS. REALLY REALLY.

And for the record? I LIKE the clothes. For some reason, the imagery of Edward in a hoodie makes me endlessly happy. I'm glad he looks...not normal, definitely far from normal. Like Steph said, the reaction is more like WHAT IS THAT? He manages to look like - what does Bella call him, ah crap, um. UM. A destroying angel? Yeah, that. That's what Robert looks like here, and it's almost comical how his expression is set against these relatively average clothes; this is kind of a stretch, but I actually interpret it as being half-human. There is a rage in Edward that is completely vampiric here, and yet everything else is human in a weird way; the clothes, the love for Bella that pushes the rage and fear so far over the edge. JUST, GAAAH, I LOVE ROBERT AND EDWARD CULLEN AND EEE, I WANT DECEMBER.

*breathes*

OKAY, that was an intense round. I'm kind of sorry but not really. I really wanted to do a huge post analyzing and freaking out over the movie sides, but that might have to wait. It's also yesterday's news for many people in the fandom (like...way yesterday, like, MONTHS AGO YESTERDAY, but I still want to do it).

For now? Some quick comments:

1. THE PAPER MILL THING IS THE FUNNIEST THING EVER EVER EVER EVER. (I AM PARAPHRASING HERE):

BELLA: Hello, Edward.
EDWARD: *DOES NOT REACT, BROODS, CLENCHES FISTS*
BELLA: Really?

AHAHA OMG THAT IS SO EPIC! OH MY GOD LOLOLOLOL.

2. I kind of think that Bella calling Billy Charlie's "fishing buddy" is a total shout out to ontd_twilight, and I'm only saying that based on the comm userinfo and the application form, which is as far as I'll go in that comm. SORRY, I'M KIND OF SCARED OF IT. :/

3. It sort of freaks me out that we meet Jake before Edward in this movie, if these sides are completely valid. But yeah. I guess it makes sense from a cinematic point of view. I can imagine posts on IMDB would be like "um, why did that Sharkboy kid randomly appear on the beach?"

AND ALSO, THE BILLY/CHARLIE BANTER IN THAT INTRODUCTION SCENE IS SO FUNNY, I DON'T EVEN CARE. LOL "I'LL ROLL YOU INTO THAT CREEK"!!!

4. I'm going to have to stop here because this is becoming REALLY FLIPPING LONG, but, one more thing: these sides have made me super ecstatic about Bella/Edward again. I just feel all fuzzy and happy and I love them so much in Twilight. AND ALSO KRISTEN STEWART IS GOING TO NAIL THIS LIKE YOU WON'T EVEN BELIEVE. She is so perfect, a;fsjfsg. When we get a damn promo pic, I'll have a big lengthy freak-out about the HIDDEN MEANING BEHIND HER EXPRESSIONS too!

And again: LOL FIELD TRIP TO THE PAPER MILL. WITH MR. MOLINA LOL RIP MR. BANNER!

i talk a fairly equal amount of real life and fandom. i update frequently. i comment as much as i can; not as much as i'd like to, but i'm trying! i'm still a teenager, so crazy hormones are to be expected. i fall in and out of love with aspects of fandom very easily, and sometimes without warning. i can get very passionate about new things, but that doesn't mean i love the old things any less.

fandom controversy?
not much! but some might consider these things controversial, so: i ship harry/hermione (harry potter), and enjoy some slash pairings like max/jude (across the universe).
